Opinionated Software
Born from decades of experience delivering high quality software in R&D and Professional Services environments, KanDo is what we call opinionated software. It’s designed first & foremost to support our own finely tuned and continuously improving SDLC process.
As such Kan-Do is very opinionated about what needs to be tracked and what is unnecessary. For instance, this Kanban will only ever have 3 columns: To do, In Progress, and Done.
However, Kan-Do provides customizable workflows that are work type specific and can be defined at all levels (Organization, project, and the work item itself). In real life, there is always work that does not fit the ‘standard’ workflow your team implemented. Typically addressed by adding a column to your board or custom fields to your work items but only used for that odd, low occurring, context. KanDo accounts for that by letting you add or remove workflow steps for specific items and automatically include these modifications in its overall process tracking.
In any organization, the key to success is ensuring everyone shares the same understanding of the organization’s objectives. KanDo supports that by providing clear and complete reporting about your projects and single source of truth for your projects’ specifications and documentation. And KanDo remembers everything, providing an auditable path for everything it tracks.
