Workflows

Make the work ‘flow’

Workflows are how KanDo collects information about your SDLC and reduces the overhead of the team. Whenever a work item transitions from one step to another via the workflow board, KanDo pops a dialog box that allows the user to put in the number of hours spent on that step and a comment that can reflect the outcome and, more importantly, any obstacles encountered that can be used at retro time.

Each kind of work item comes with a default workflow. You can easily change these workflows to meet your needs.

  • The organization configuration provides workflows that can be used by all projects.
  • The project gets a copy of these workflows so that you can tailor them to the specific needs of the project.

Workflows in action

Workflows allow you to capture time spent and details about each step of your process in an efficient way. When a step is completed, the developer drags the work item to the next step. This automatically pops up a screen where the developer can enter the time spent to complete this part of the process and add some comments about the work done. This simple step goes a long in gathering data that helps debug the SDLC.
